Ana Cristina Silvestre Ferreirasofias
Ana C. Silvestre-Ferreira received her degree in Veterinary medicine in 1994 from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD). In this year she became Assistant at UTAD and in 2005 obtained her PhD at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canária. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of the Veterinary Sciences Department at UTAD and member of the Animal and Veterinary Research Centre (CECAV). She participated for several years between 2000 and 2013 on the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of UTAD (HVUTAD) board, where she served as director for teaching and board director. Since 2015 she is the director of the Veterinary Clinical Pathology Laboratory of the HVUTAD. She has authored or co-authored 17 (14 ISI) research papers; 2 book chapters; and several papers or abstracts in international meetings. She is a referee in some impact journals. Her scientific fields of interest are related to transfusion medicine and veterinary clinical pathology on an diagnostic and prognostic of factors related to biologic issues and prevalence and epidemiological integrative studies perspective, regarding a One Health concept.
