Filipa Cristina Teixeira de Sousa Rodriguessofias
Filipa Teixeira Rodrigues received her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2001 at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), and later, in 2014, obtained her master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine with a master’s dissertation entitled “Babesiose canina no distrito de Bragança”. She started her career as a Small Animal clinician until 2018, also participating in clinical trials related with ecto and endo parasites. She has been an invited Professor in the School of Agriculture of Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (ESA - IPB) from 2010 to 2017, lecturing several subjects of Veterinary Technology courses, and in 2015 she was attributed a Specialist Title in Veterinary Science by the same Institute. Currently, she is undertaking a PhD program in Veterinary Science, as a member of the Animal and Veterinary Research Centre (CECAV). The primary field of research interest is related to epidemiology and public health, associated to the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii. Regarding publications and communications, Filipa has 4 articles in an international peer-reviewed journal, 4 oral communications and 4 posters in scientific meetings. She has also special interest in small ruminant parasitology, and protozoal and vector-borne diseases of domestic and wild animals.
