Isabel O Neill de Mascarenhas Gaivão

Isabel Gaivão received her degree in Animal Science engineering in 1987 from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD). She became Assistant at UTAD and in 1999 obtained his PhD in Genetics. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of the Genetics and Biotechnology Department at UTAD and member of the Animal and Veterinary Research Centre (CECAV). She participates in several projects and research collaborations with several institutions. The primary fields of research interest are related to DNA damage and mutagenesis; DNA repair in mammalian cells; influence of nutrition on DNA damage and repair and cancer. She has authored or co-authored 45 (40 ISI) research papers; 3 book chapters; 1 Book Editor, 68 paper or abstracts in international meetings. She is a referee in impact journals including BMC Medical Genetics; Mutagenesis; Mutation Research; Nutrients; Genetics and Molecular Biology. She supervised 1 PhD and 23 MSc students.
