Luís Miguel Martins Lucas Cardososofias
Luís Cardoso graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the former Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal, and obtained a master’s degree in Tropical Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry from the same school. He received his PhD and habilitation title in Veterinary Sciences from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), in Vila Real, Portugal. He is currently associate professor of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases at the Department of Veterinary Sciences, School of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences, UTAD. Apart from being a diplomate of the European Veterinary Parasitology College (EVPC) and an EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Parasitology, Luís is a member of the LeishVet association and of the European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) Portugal, and an invited member of CVBD® (Companion Vector-Borne Diseases) World Forum. His major study interests are protozoal and vector-borne diseases of domestic and wild animals.
