Miguel Nuno Pinheiro Quaresmasofias
Miguel Quaresma graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1998 at the Universidade de Trás os Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD). He started his career as a Bovine clinician at a Farmers’ Association. After doing his military service as a Horse clinician he started working at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of UTAD in 2001 as a Large Animal Clinician, function that he still holds. He also has been an invited Professor in Reproduction Medicine I and II since 2013. In 2015 he concluded his PhD, titled “Asinina de Miranda donkey breed (Equus asinus): demographic analysis and characterization of the reproductive cycles”. Since 2017, he is enroled in the European College of Animal Reproduction resident alternative program, in the field of Equid reproduction, with the tutorship of Professor Francesco Camillo from Pisa University. His main investigation field is donkey reproduction. He has authored or co-authored 23 (11 ISI) research papers; 3 book chapters and 21 paper or abstracts in international meetings. He has been referee 14 journals articles. He supervised 19 MSc students.
